In places like Blanes, Lloret or Girona, summer is the real search peak of the year: tourists and visitors deciding on the spot, on their phones, looking at Google Maps. Your Google Business Profile is often the first and only impression that customer gets of your business before they decide.
Peak season checklist
- Updated summer opening hours, including bank holidays and extended hours if you have them.
- Recent photos, not ones from two seasons ago: this summer’s dishes, the terrace as it is now, the room exactly as it looks today.
- Attributes switched on: terrace, good for groups, bookings, accessibility, where they apply to your business.
- Weekly posts on your profile: an offer, an event, something new. An active profile shows the business is alive.
- Replies to recent reviews, especially this season’s.
- Questions and answers checked: lots of people ask directly on the listing before they call.
Why it matters more in July and August
In peak season local searches go up, but so does the competition to appear at the top. An out-of-date profile doesn’t just lose visibility: it gives the impression that “this place might be closed or not what it used to be”, and the customer keeps looking elsewhere.
Already thinking about September
What you build now (this season’s reviews, photos, posts) keeps working for you when footfall drops. Getting summer right is the foundation of the reputation you take into the low season.
